The Samsung Exynos 5422 is a high-performance SoC designed for premium smartphones and tablets, first announced in early 2014. Built using a 28-nanometer process technology, it leverages Samsung’s big.LITTLE architecture to deliver a robust combination of power and efficiency.
The Exynos 5422 features an octa-core CPU configuration with four high-performance ARM Cortex-A15 cores clocked at up to 2.1 GHz for demanding tasks, and four power-efficient ARM Cortex-A7 cores running at up to 1.5 GHz for everyday activities. This dynamic architecture allows the SoC to switch between cores based on the workload, optimizing performance and battery life.
For graphics, the Exynos 5422 integrates the ARM Mali-T628 MP6 GPU, which delivers strong performance for gaming and high-definition multimedia applications. The GPU supports advanced graphics APIs and provides smooth, high-frame-rate visuals, enhancing the overall user experience.
The chipset includes support for dual-channel LPDDR3 RAM, ensuring fast data access and efficient multitasking capabilities. It also supports eMMC 5.0 storage, allowing for quick read and write speeds, which contribute to overall system responsiveness.
