Qualcomm Snapdragon 875

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 was an anticipated flagship SoC that was ultimately canceled in favor of the Snapdragon 888. Initially expected to be built on a 5-nanometer process technology, the Snapdragon 875 was designed to deliver significant enhancements in performance, power efficiency, and AI capabilities for next-generation premium smartphones.

The planned architecture included an octa-core CPU configuration with a prime Cortex-X2 core, three Cortex-A78 cores, and four Cortex-A55 cores, aiming to provide a balance of top-tier performance and energy efficiency. It was also expected to feature the Adreno 730 GPU, designed to offer exceptional graphics performance for high-definition gaming and multimedia applications.

The Snapdragon 875 would have integrated an advanced AI Engine for superior performance in AI-driven tasks such as real-time image processing and voice recognition. Additionally, it was expected to include the Snapdragon X65 5G modem, supporting both sub-6 GHz and mmWave 5G networks for ultra-fast connectivity, along with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 support for versatile wireless connectivity options.

Despite the promising specifications and capabilities, Qualcomm decided to cancel the Snapdragon 875 and instead launched the Snapdragon 888, which became the new flagship SoC for premium smartphones.
