The Qualcomm Snapdragon 600 is a high-performance System-on-Chip (SoC) primarily designed for Android-based smartphones and tablets, announced in early 2013. This SoC integrates four ARMv7-compatible Krait-300 cores, which feature architectural improvements over the previous Krait cores found in the Snapdragon S4 processors, offering enhanced performance and efficiency.
Manufactured using a 28nm process, the Snapdragon 600 ensures a balance between power consumption and processing power. The Krait-300 cores are clocked at up to 1.9 GHz, providing robust performance for a range of applications, from multitasking to high-definition media playback.
The chipset also includes an Adreno 320 GPU, which delivers significant improvements in graphics performance, making it well-suited for gaming and other graphics-intensive tasks. The GPU supports advanced graphics APIs such as OpenGL ES 3.0, enhancing the visual experience on supported devices.
In addition to its CPU and GPU capabilities, the Snapdragon 600 features an integrated LTE modem for high-speed mobile connectivity, supporting LTE Cat 3 with download speeds of up to 100 Mbps. The SoC also includes support for dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and GPS, ensuring comprehensive connectivity options.
Memory support for the Snapdragon 600 includes LPDDR2 and LPDDR3, allowing for efficient data handling and faster memory access, contributing to the overall responsiveness of devices powered by this SoC.
