The Apple A10 Fusion is a high-performance SoC designed to power premium Apple devices, such as the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, delivering robust performance and efficiency. Announced in September 2016, it is built using a 16-nanometer process technology, providing a balance of power efficiency and strong performance for a variety of mobile applications.
The A10 Fusion features a quad-core CPU configuration with two high-performance Hurricane cores and two high-efficiency Zephyr cores. This setup allows the chipset to handle demanding tasks with the Hurricane cores, clocked at up to 2.34 GHz, while maintaining power efficiency with the Zephyr cores for less intensive tasks. This architecture ensures smooth multitasking and extended battery life.
For graphics, the A10 Fusion integrates a six-core PowerVR Series7XT Plus GPU, delivering exceptional performance for gaming and high-definition multimedia applications. The GPU supports advanced graphics features, ensuring smooth and immersive visual experiences with high frame rates.
The A10 Fusion includes an embedded M10 motion coprocessor, which efficiently handles sensor data from the accelerometer, gyroscope, and compass, enabling features like always-on Siri and fitness tracking without significantly draining the battery.
