In starting of 2020, Qualcomm introduced its Snapdragon 720G SoC as the successor of the Snapdragon 712 SoC. It is an upgrade over SD 712 having upgraded CPU, GPU, Manufacturing process, and many more features. This is an upper-mid-range chipset while on the other side, Samsung also has a mid-range chipset with a good mid-range performance and that is Exynos 9611.
The Exynos 9611 was launched in September 2019 as the successor of Exynos 9610. It also brings a tiny improvement in its GPU over the Exynos 9610 SoC. Now it has to be seen that how both, Snapdragon 720G and Exynos 9611 performs against each other? To know about it we brought this comparison, here we will compare Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G vs Samsung Exynos 9611 Chipset and try to find out the difference between both SoC. Let’s know about them.

Start with the CPU section, here both SoCs have 64-bit octa-core CPU. Speaking of Snapdragon 720G, it features 2 ARM Cortex-A76 Gold Cores running with a maximum clock speed of 2.30GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 Silver Cores operating at up to 1.80GHz clock speed. While Exynos 9611 integrates 4 ARM Cortex-A73 Powerful Cores clocked at up to 2.30GHz and 4 ARM Cortex-A53 Efficiency Cores that can operate at up to 1.70GHz clock speed.
Here the Snapdragon 720G has a better architecture of its CPU cores as well as the better clock speed of little cores because of which Snapdragon 720G has better CPU processing than the Exynos 9611.
Talking about the GPU, here for gaming, Snapdragon 720G integrates the Adreno 618 GPU whereas the Exynos 9611 incorporates an ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU.
Here also the Adreno 618 offers a better gaming performance than the Mali-G72 MP3 present on Exynos 9611. So here Snapdragon 720G has a better GPU in comparison to the Exynos 9611 because of which it can provide a better gaming and graphical performance compared to the Exynos 9611.
Speaking of the manufacturing process, the Exynos 9611 is built using the 10nm FinFET Process technology of Samsung whereas the Snapdragon 720G is fabricated on the 8nm process technology of TSMC. In this section also the Snapdragon 720G is better because it has a better fabrication process than the Exynos 9611.
Coming to the camera and optics, here Snapdragon 720G features a Qualcomm Spectra 350L image signal processor which is a 14 bit dual-ISP and can support a dual camera of up to 20MP + 20MP, the single-camera of up to 192MP.
On the other side, here also the Exynos 9611 is weak because it has support for up to 16MP + 16MP dual and single-camera of up to 24MP.
In the case of RAM, Exynos 9611 has support for up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM clocked at up to 1866MHz while Snapdragon 720G supports up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM clocked at up to 2133MHz.
In the case of storage, Exynos 9611 supports UFS 2.1, eMMC 5.1 based storage while Snapdragon 720G has support for UFS 2.1, UFS 3.0 based storage.
In this section, Snapdragon 720G supports up to Quad HD+(1440 x 3360 pixels) displays while the Exynos 9611 has support for WQXGA(2560×1600 Pixels) displays.
Connectivity-wise, Snapdragon 720G got a Qualcomm Snapdragon X15 LTE modem that can capture a downloading speed of up to 800 Mbps using LTE Cat.15 and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. It also has features such as Dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth, 4G VoLTE, GPS, FM Radio, USB 3.1, USB-C for charging, and data transfer. For charging it has support for Qualcomm Quick Charge AI and Quick Charge 4 technology.
On the other side, Exynos 9611 is capable of providing a maximum downloading speed of 600Mbps using LTE Cat.12 3CA and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13 2CA. Other features like Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, FM Radio, GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo are also included.
Now concluding, as you saw in the comparison, the Snapdragon 720G has better CPU, GPU, Manufacturing process, camera, memory, display, and connectivity features than the Exynos 9611. So in the overall comparison of Snapdragon 720G vs Exynos 9611, the Snapdragon 720G comes as the winner.
