Xiaomi has officially launched its Xiaomi Mi Mi Note 10 Lite, Redmi Note 9, and Redmi Note 9 Pro in the global market. Speaking of the Redmi Note 9, it features MediaTek Helio G85 Octa-Core SoC. This is the world’s first smartphone that comes with this chipset. As its name suggests, the Helio G85 is the successor of MediaTek Helio G80. We have also compared both of these chipsets. Here we will compare MediaTek Helio G85 vs Helio P65 Chipsets.
We are comparing these chipsets because both have almost the same CPU, GPU, and many more features. If you also want to know the difference between the Helio G85 and the Helio P65, then read this comparison. Let’s know about them.
Starting the comparison with the CPU section, speaking of the new Helio G85, it features an octa-core CPU based on a 64-bit architecture that includes 2 ARM Cortex-A75 Big Cores clocked at up to 2.00GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 Little Cores operating at up to 1.8GHz clock speed.
While the Helio P65 also has a 64-bit Octa-Core CPU that integrates 2 ARM Cortex-A75 Powerful Cores running with a maximum downloading speed of 2.00GHz and 6 ARM Cortex-A55 Efficiency Cores that can operate at up to 2.00GHz.
Here both SoCs have the same clock speed as their big cores while the Helio P65 has a better clock speed than its little cores because of which it has better CPU processing than the Helio G85. So in terms of CPU processing, the Helio P65 is a better chipset than the Helio G85.
For gaming, the Helio G85 integrates an ARM Mali-G52 MC2 GPU operating at up to 950MHz whereas the Helio P65 incorporates an ARM Mali-G52 clocked at up to 820MHz.
Here both SoCs have the same GPU while the Helio G85 has better clock speed because of which it can offer a better gaming performance than the Helio P65.
So in the case of gaming, the Helio G85 is a better chipset compared to the Helio P65.
MediaTek Helio G85 and the Helio P65, both are built using TSMC’s 12nm manufacturing process. Here both are the same in the case of the manufacturing process.
Coming to the camera part, here, the Helio G85 has support for up to 16MP + 16MP dual and up to 48MP single camera, whereas the Helio P65 also supports the same up to 16MP + 16MP dual and up to 48MP single camera sensor. Here also both are the same.
Speaking of RAM support, the Helio G85 and Helio P65 both support up to 4GB LPDDR3 RAM clocked at 933MHz and up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM operating at up to 1600MHz.
Both SoCs support the same eMMC 5.1 based storage.
In this section, also both the Helio G85 and Helio P65 are the same. Both have support for up to Full HD Plus(2520 x 1080p) displays.
Connectivity-wise, the Helio G85, can capture a maximum downloading speed of 300Mbps using LTE Cat.7 and an uploading speed of up to 150Mbps using LTE Cat.13. While the Helio P65 also has the same LTE Cat.7 for downloading and LTE Cat.13 for uploading.
Other features like WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, FM Ratio, etc. are also the same in both chipsets.
